This home is located in a wealthy community of Honolulu, O’ahu, called Kahala. The homes in Kahala were mostly 1960’s built, single-wall construction, no central heat or air conditioning, and very small yards. We purchased this home in Kahala for $1,290,000. We invested an additional $375,000 into the home and it is now on the market for $1,799,000. The renovations we performed on this home were extensive because we removed the roof on the back half of the home and installed all new trusses to create soaring vaulted ceilings with impressive natural beams ($55,000). We updated all the electrical ($17,500) and plumbing ($12,500), we installed central air conditioning ($20,000) and took the interior completely down to studs.
